It's me, the plumber
Busy few days.
I had a plumbing emergency to take care of in the new house. Tuesday night the seal on one of the drain pipes broke, and the pipes came apart. This resulted in water not being able to drain. Instead it spilled out into the cabinet making everything wet.
With us being unable to use the sink and the dishwasher (it's drain pipe tied into the main drain pipe, right above the break) we could not use the sink. We took the dishes to the in laws and washed them, and since no hardware store was open when the break happened, I had to wait till yesterday to fix the leak.
On my lunch break yesterday I drove to Home Depot picked up PVC Primer and Glue. Went home from work and fixed everything. I waited the two hours for everything to set and dry. Upon waiting it out, I ran the water down the pipe.
Results?
It worked. Dry as a bone.
The real test came when we ran the dishwasher.
Result?
It worked. Dry as a bone.
I realize in the scheme of things, this is not a major repair. For me it was a great feeling of accomplishment. I fixed something, saw the results, and did not have to call a plumber.
